Juan Berrios
Juan Berrios is currently a member of the Dallas Brass, one of America’s foremost musical ensembles. Originally from Bayamón, Puerto Rico, Juan attended the University of Central Florida where he received a Bachelor’s in Music Performance degree. With the Dallas Brass, Juan has performed and presented hundreds of concerts as well as educational clinics all over the country, and can be heard on the album “The American Songbook.” While a student at UCF, Juan was the recipient of the Presser Foundation Scholarship, the Performance Excellence Award, was a member of the award-winning Brass Band of Central Florida, and was awarded full scholarships to attend the Music Academy of the West, as well as the Aspen Music Festival and School, two of the most prestigious summer music festivals in the country. A versatile musician, Juan has enjoyed performing with many fine musical ensembles, such as the Horns & Pipes Brass Ensemble, Brass Band of Central Florida, Timucua Jazz Orchestra, and the Florida Lakes Symphony, Orlando Philharmonic, and Sarasota Orchestras. In addition, Juan has performed with the Boston Brass & Brass All-Stars Big Band, gave the Florida premiere of Kenneth Fuch’s horn concerto, “Canticle to the Sun” with the Space Coast Symphony Orchestra in 2012, and has performed as a soloist in clinics and workshops, most recently as a Regional Artist at the 2013 Southeast Horn Workshop. A passionate educator and avid conductor, Juan enjoys working with students in Central Florida, and throughout the country with Dallas Brass, serving as a private teacher, clinician, and guest conductor. Juan plays exclusively on Hans Hoyer French horns. Juan resides in Kissimmee, FL and enjoys spending time with his fiancée, cooking, and bowling.
