Sébastien Mitterrand
Sébastien Mitterrand is an original musician open to many styles. Born in Orléans (France), he graduated from the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Tours (CRR) in French horn and chamber music. He was then admitted at the CRR de Paris, where he obtained his improvement qualification in 2011. He regularly plays with the Orchestre Colonne, the Orchestres Symphoniques de Tours, d’Orléans, du Loiret, La Fabrique Opéra, the Orchestre d’Harmonie de la Région Centre (…)
Besides his classical carreer, he is interested in less traditional repertoires for a hornist. His passion for jazz encouraged him to explore more musical and expressive possibilities with this instrument, especially through improvisation. He improved his knowledge in Jazz à Tours school where he obtained a Diplôme d’Etudes Musicales Jazz, and he plays in several bands with very varied profiles : Hoop (horn and guitar jazz duet), Seth Leïma (fusion jazz), the Mallet-Horn Jazzband (jazz – Klarthe label), Cu2+ (rock) (…)
Sébastien Mitterrand teaches french horn and jazz since 2005 in several music schools and on the occasion of master classes or training sessions. He is also sponsored by Buffet Group and Hans Hoyer.
